Summary
This article offers a concise roadmap for understanding and addressing the persistent immune response associated with chronic inflammation. This guide explores the root causes of chronic inflammation, ranging from diet and stress to environmental factors, while providing actionable strategies for managing its effects.
I have started a special series to discuss chronic inflammation and how to tame it during our Wednesday zoom sessions. As you know we are all developing chronic inflammation. Hence, the need for this series.
This week we started the discussion with the macrophages as the possible culprits for chronic inflammation. I presented the solutions first and then a part of the pathology. Writing here the solutions (references below the solutions.)
My attempt is to discuss lifestyle and non-prescription solutions.
Hypertension
- Isometric exercises (planks, wall squats.)
- Low sodium diet
Health and Longevity
- Taurine
- Forest bathing
- Morning and/or evening walks when sun is barely out.
Management of chronic inflammation by taming the macrophages
- Mediterranean diet: extra virgin olive oil, oily fish, vegetables.
- Nordic diet: the Nordic diet includes increased content of berries, fish, nuts, and seeds with limited consumption of red and processed meat, sugar, salt and alcohol
- Berries are the key feature of the Nordic diet. According to recent studies, regular berries intake reduces systemic inflammation
- Blueberries should be an important part of our diet.
